Do you ever think of how our Savior, who was born in a manger, slept the first night he was born? The angels announced his birth. How about that for a birth announcement? The Savior is born!!! God's promise that the Messiah would come was fulfilled. Salvation is simple. The Bible says in Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
God gave us the perfect Christmas gift, his ONLY son. As I look at this picture of my son Jakob sleeping when he was 6 months old I can only imagine just a tiny fraction of the love that God had for his son Jesus. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son... We have EVERLASTING life in Him! Isn't that glorious?!!!!
In February of 2011, we had record snows that broke records from 1904. Erik laughed at me all week because he said he couldn't believe how excited I was about the snow. Each morning, I threw open the curtains to look at the snow. I even turned the recliner in the living room around so I could sit facing the window out to my art studio and paint some watercolor paintings. I put Jakob in his play seat right in front of the window so he could watch and giggle at the snow. I've always loved the snow. There are a lot of hymns written about snow. "Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." "What can wash away my sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus." That week, was a wonderful week spent at home with my hubby and baby and I LOVED every minute of it.
"Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all."
1 Chronicles 29:11
